Stone & Quartz Products

At Rocky Tops, we carry a large line of natural stone and quartz products.  All of the natural stone and quartz products are fabricated at our facility located in the Karns community in west Knoxville.  This facility also houses our main showroom.  Whether you are interested in a natural stone such as granite, marble or travertine, or you are interested in a Quartz product, which is basically “man-made” granite, the basic fabrication process is the same.  Large slabs of your selected material are cut down to the specific sizes required for your project.  Your choice of edge detail and other requirements such as undermount sink cut-outs are completed and then your job is ready for install. 

 
GRANITE:  The term “granite” covers a wide range of natural stone materials.  Granite is mined all over the world and comes in hundreds of different colors.  Due to the durability and general stain resistance, granite is an excellent choice for almost any countertop requirement.  We recommend granite for kitchens, bathrooms, bars, fireplace surrounds and almost any other place that you desire the beauty of natural stone.

 
MARBLE & TRAVERTINE:  Although marble and travertine are very durable, they are calcium based stones that are susceptible to acidic substances such as lemon juice.  They are also softer and more porous than granite and can be scratched and stained more easily than granite or quartz. Due to these issues, we recommend marble and travertine mostly for use in bathrooms. 

QUARTZ:  The term “Quartz” refers to a variety of different brands of, for lack of a better term, “man made” granite.  Like granite, this product can be used for almost any countertop selection.  Quartz products have virtually the same durability as granite with the added advantage of being totally non-porous.   This means quartz is basically maintenance free.  We are ceritified fabricators for Silestone, CeasarStone and Hanstone brands of quartz.
